Opportunity

Olympic Industries is currently searching for a highly motivated and competitive Transportation Coordinator to join our growth-oriented team! For the right individual, this position has the opportunity for advancement into a leadership role.

Working closely with Traders, the Transportation Coordinator directly contributes to Olympic Industries’ success through seamlessly managing the company’s logistic functions by maintaining a constant up-to-date knowledge of transportation markets to move loads in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining long-term vendor relationships.

Specific Responsibilities

• Spearheading the overland freight logistics function of the company.
• Negotiating freight rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
• Managing the timely movement of all trucks sold at market rates.
• Communicating market trends and spot rates to Traders on an hourly/daily basis.
• Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with key trucking vendors such as asset-based carriers and brokers.
• Recommending optimal transportation routes to Traders.
• Preparing and updating reports and other logistics-related documentation.
• Adhering to management guidelines and moving late loads in a timely manner.
• Ensuring compliance with import/export/customs regulations and other legal requirements.
• Discovering markets and transact truck rates by keeping a constant up-to-date knowledge of the markets.
• Identifying additional capacity for expanding trading business.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience of moving a high-volume of materials and products.
• Knowledge of cross-border requirements, specifically within North America.
• Degree or Diploma in a related program such as Business or equivalent experience considered an asset.
