GFD Looking for Accountant at Toronto, ON Full Time

The Position:
Globalfaces Direct is seeking a talented and analytical Accountant to provide outstanding operational support to the Finance Team by ensuring day to day and month to month functions are completed to the highest standards. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Accountant will execute a range of accounting, consolidation, reporting and financial operations (including accounts payable and tax filings) tasks for our business. This role provides the foundation and exposure necessary for a stimulating and dynamic career at Globalfaces Direct.

What you will do:
Maintain books of accounts for GFD’s Canadian & US entities, make requisite entries, add journal entries (as required), post month end accrual entries and more.

Collate month end financial statements for all entities.

Complete reconciliations with the Bank accounts for all entities.

Liaise with key stakeholders throughout the organisation to obtain required transaction details as and when required.

Monitor our Payables account & adding all invoices to the books.

Ensure the accuracy of incoming business invoices and keep track of variations, if any.

Certify that invoices from Consultants are received on a timely basis and added to our internal accounting system.

Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on invoices that are billed to our clients.

Engage in management reporting through the collation of periodic performance measurement data.

Determine the profitability of ad-hoc projects by keeping track of expansion costs and related revenue.

What you will bring to GFD:
Your Experience

1.5 years of experience in the Accounting domain.

Your Technical skills

Strong proficiency with an enterprise-level financial management software system, with preference given to QuickBooks.

Advanced technical and reporting proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Strong proficiency with the entire MS Office and Google Suite programs.

Your Skills, Competencies, Qualities & Abilities

Able to adapt quickly to an existing, complex, and fast-changing environment.

Attention to detail, with a palpable sense of urgency & drive to deliver quality outcomes.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Professional working proficiency with the English language (verbal & written).

Able to interpret & analyse complex sets of data (both quantitative & qualitative) and generate actionable insights for the business.

Critical thinking, with a knack for creative problem solving and continuous process improvement.

A person of integrity, with the utmost respect for information security standards

Your Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Management, with a particular focus in Finance or Accounting (required).

Achieved or currently working towards a CPA certification is an asset.

Solid foundational understanding of Canadian tax codes and relevant legislation.
