Clinical Research Dental Looking for Human Resources Generalist at London, ON Full Time

We have an immediate and exciting career opportunity for a full-time permanent Human Resources Generalist in our London, ON headquarters.

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for ensuring key HR programs and employment standards, company policies and functions of the organization are according to company standards and provincial/federal regulations. Primary responsibilities include Recruitment, Employee Relations, Onboarding, Employee Training and Development, Performance and Terminations, Leadership support to the management team, Coordination and facilitation of the Health and Safety programs, Benefits Administration and Corporate Policies and Procedures. The HR Generalist takes the initiative to proactively make improvements and promptly resolve matters as they arise. You will work with all levels of the organization and report to the Vice President of Business Operations.

Accountabilities

Recruitment (40%)

• Coordinate all hiring activities collaborating closely with the relevant manager including developing position descriptions, postings, interviews, assessments, reference checks, offer letters etc.
• Actively participate in the interview process for open positions, identifying positive qualifications as well as those that may be of concern. Reduce pool of candidates to a reasonable number for hiring manager to interview. Partner with hiring managers in all final hiring decisions for all position level candidates.
• Work with recruiting agencies and build industry contacts to try and keep a constant pool of potential hires in the pipeline.
• Development of position descriptions with hiring managers.
• Administer/Coordinate all applicable onboarding of new HR employee training (WHMIS, Accessibility Standards, and Health & Safety etc.)
• Responsible for all work placements, internships, and Summer Student Programs (where applicable).
• Follow up with all newly hired and promoted employees within their first 90 days to conduct informal interviews and ensure they have been on boarded as per company programs and standards.
• Provide weekly recruitment updates to Executive Team.

Talent Development (10%)

• Introduce and manage an annual talent review process with the business to include identification of top talent, succession planning, selection, promotion, and transfer of internal candidates for growth positions.
• Work in conjunction with senior leaders in determining the most value-add training needs based on business needs and development gaps identified through the talent review process
• Focus on developing successors and talent in strategic and critical roles, establishing specific individual development plans and timed action plans for performance improvement, as needed
• In conjunction with managers, develop training and other workshops to enhance employee.
• Development and ensure proper training and coaching is available.

Performance Management (10%)

• Provide coaching and guidance to Managers to enhance their leadership skills and ensure consistency with direct reports and their development.
• Provide advice and support to employees in areas of training, performance, and onboarding, in conjunction with Managers, create action plans for underperforming employees that provide them with the direction and support needed to improve their performance.
• Support and guide Managers and employees regarding company policies, HR programs,
• administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are managed consistently and in a timely manner.
• Drive the MBO (Management by Objectives) program for all Managers and Team Members. Support and encourage all staff to meet goals throughout the year.
• Administer, review, and prepare employee survey’s and recommend actionable items based on results.

Employee Relations (20%)

• Proactively address employee relations issues with Managers by coaching on how to
• investigate and address situations in adherence with company policies and relevant
• standards.
• Conduct exit interviews for all full-time salaried employees who voluntarily resign and
• identify themes and trends to assess and address if needed.
• Provide effective coaching, counseling, and progressive disciplinary strategies on all
• employee relations issues, up to and including terminations.
• Partner with Managers on elevated risk/complex written communications/discipline to be
• administered ensuring consistency amongst employees.

HR Administration (20%)

• Lead the benefits committee and consult with Insurance carriers and Benefits broker to ensure the benefits program is meeting needs within budget parameters.
• Work with the benefits providers and broker to administer benefits in an effective and
• timely manner including claims, billing, adjustments, new enrolments, annual renewals,
• employee changes, health & wellness initiatives, EAP etc.
• Lead all aspects of Health and Safety initiatives and compliance with Joint Health and Safety committee. Ensure OHSA requirements are current and in line with expectations, committee is meeting regularly, WHIMIS training and all related policies and procedures are documented.
• Ensure WSIB claims and administration is completed within specified timeframes.
• Ongoing administration of corporate policies to ensure team member adherence and compliance with current ministry standards. Lead other HR Program initiatives such as Years of Service, Rewards and Recognition, take our Kids to Work day etc.
• Support to the Executive Team organizing and scheduling quarterly and annual meeting events and corporate training programs.
• Maintain employee personnel files and other HR records.

Qualifications;

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources
• 3-5 years of related progressive HR experience
• CHRP designation preferred/working towards CHRL
• Previous experience with recruiting, employee development and training
• Exceptional proficiency using Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledgeable, and with the ability to understand and apply Employment and Health and Safety legislation. JHSC certification training is an asset.
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Strong ethical behaviour and professional maturity
• Knowledge of compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, safety practices and talent acquisition and the ability to apply this information to ensure compliance with company standards and current provincial/federal regulations
