About Role:
Freddie is seeking a driven and team-oriented person to support the daily accounting operations of our organization. Reporting and working hand-in-hand with the Finance team, the position will be hands-on utilizing your ability to link critical thinking with day-to-day accounting knowledge. Duties include but are not limited to invoicing, accounts payable, and general ledger entries. This position requires the ability to multitask, manage time effectively and pay attention to details. Responsibilities:
Review and input daily Accounts Payable transactions, including vendor invoices and employee expenses
Maintenance of online banking and recording of daily cash transactions, including reconciliation of all bank accounts
Review, reconciliation and processing of journal entries related to monthly credit card statements, including the collection and administration of supporting documentation (receipts, invoices, etc.
Manage and maintain supplier files, including supplier invoices, related payment remittances and supplier agreements
Prepare Accounts Receivable invoices on a monthly basis
Assistance with the preparation of monthly financial statements including various account reconciliations and supporting working papers
Assistance with the preparation of supporting information for annual financial audit and provide support during the audit as required
Participation in the development and maintenance of company-wide administrative processes
Assistance in preparing monthly payroll, including maintenance of third-party payroll software processing
Assistance with the preparation of GSH/HST compliance
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or a related field
1 – 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a tech start-up
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and G-Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.)
Experience and/or maintaining an open mind to the development and implementation of standardized business and administrative processes to assist in scaling business operations
Demonstrated ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to effectively communicate across all levels and departments within the business
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
