This role is covering a maternity leave through March 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management:
New customer setup, manage and maintain customer lists
Complete credit checks and credit applications
Accounts Receivable:
Create invoices and review with Project Managers,
Receive and record customer payments on account, record customer deposits and make bank deposits.
Collections and customer follow-up – prepare Statements, review and adjust AR aging, phone call and follow up procedures, and apply finance charges.
Maintain customer and sales related accounts – accounts receivable, customer deposits, first review of sales accounts, and customer holdbacks.
Month end procedures – review open sales order, credit balances and collections and create reports for Management
Employee Expenses
Import and compile employee expense reports monthly ensuring appropriate back up documentation is provided.
Prepare/ send employee payments,
enter journal entry for pay cheques from bank account to clearing account
Payroll
Time cards entry, calculate clothing allowance, calculate commissions,
Process payroll liabilities
Maintain compliance with payroll related entities – CRA, WCB, benefits providers and other payroll related payments.
Maintain and reconcile employee and payroll related GL accounts, employee savings accounts, CRA payroll liabilities, benefits payable, and vacation payable
Reclass CPP and EI from office expense to warehouse, sales and management.
Prepare reports for Management
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Post-secondary business/accounting diploma or degree or related experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience in full cycle accounting
Accounting Diploma (Degree is an asset)
PCP is highly desirable
Experience working with QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software is required
The ability to prepare data analysis and reconcile between different sources of information.
Proven ability to work within time constraints.
A good understanding of accounting practices and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
