Position Summary

Reporting to the Managers, Rehabilitation Services, under the supervision of the Medical Director of the EEG Labs, the Technologist is responsible for performing, reviewing and evaluating the patient’s EEG recordings and video EEG telemetry monitoring. The technologist is responsible for intraoperative ECOG and review of invasive EEG recordings under the supervision of the epileptologist during epilepsy surgeries.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday; 8:30am – 4:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Two (2) year Training Program in EEG required.
  • Certified by the Canadian Board of Registered EEG Technologists (CBRET) required.
  • Where there are no candidates with the required CBRET certification, consideration may be given to candidates eligible to be certified with designation completed with the next exam offering.
  • Member of the Canadian Association of EEG Technologists (CAET) required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of EEG experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using digital EEG recordings, long-term video and portable digital EEG recordings required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • High regard for quality and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work under stress and provide comfort to patients and families.
  • Experience with pediatric EEG preferred.
  • Experience using digital EEG recording in a pediatric intensive care setting an asset.
  • Interest in research an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.
