General Motors Looking for Diagnostic Strategist Vehicle System Diagnostics and Controls at Markham, ON Full Time

The Role

We are looking for experienced and motivated candidates for the Diagnostic Strategist position in the Vehicle System Diagnostics and Controls group. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, releasing, verification, and compliance of the on-board diagnostic controls and calibrations for the Global B BCM.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead calibration engineers and engineering support personnel in the calibration development and verification of OBD II diagnostics
• Provide calibration leadership for product diagnostic strategies
• Develop, partition and assemble calibrations, working in concert with Calibration Specialists, Design Release Engineers, and Platform Integration Engineers
• Manage overall diagnostic development plans and certification documentation to meet diagnostic requirements for all Regions of sale
• Lead standardized in-vehicle calibration and certification work execution
• Coordinate thetesting of BCM for compliance to OBD II Regulations
• Manage production issues, warranty and JD Powers improvement
• Model and foster desired core values and behaviors
• Manage development, production and warranty issues as the single point DTC/Diagnosticcontact to the Program Teams.

Additional Job Description

Required Skills and Experience

• 6+ years of automotive industry experience.
• Strong understanding of controls and diagnostics as it relates to OBD II requirements
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve substantial influence without administrative authority
• Demonstrated teamwork and consensus building skills
• Able to exhibit high level of oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated expertise in Diagnostics and Controls
• Strong analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
• High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
• Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering (INCA, DPS, MATLAB, CRETA, vCDM)
• Knowledge of Engineering Standard Work for Powertrain calibrations
• Ability to identify and remove roadblocks
• Creates and maintains an environment that enables all participants to contribute to full potential
• Ability to travel as required for offsite testing
