About the Position
Join the Human Resources team at Norfolk General Hospital in this exciting and challenging role of Recruitment Specialist. The role is responsible for full cycle recruitment and selection functions to ensure that the hospital attracts and retains qualified staff aligned with the hospital’s values. This position is accountable to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the daily recruitment process, including job postings, interview guide development, pre-screening, referencing, and employment offers
Be accountable for understanding the recruitment needs of each specific client and being proactive in identifying, designing and implementing recruitment initiatives
Consult with Hiring Managers on the development of competency-based behavioral interview guides and appropriate skills-testing
Collaborate and consult with team members within Human Resources and all levels of management as required
Act as the primary point of contact for all recruitment & hiring matters for Hiring Managers within their portfolio and work in partnership to understand and provide consultative and value-added recruitment support in achieving their various hiring needs and challenges
Ensure that the recruitment & selection process aligns with hospital policy and best practices as well as the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities and the evaluation of existing systems and processes
Represent the organization externally by attending job fairs and other career events
Develop job advertisements that engage the candidate pool and encourage a stream of qualified applicants
Consistently supports and communicates the Mission, Vision and Values of Norfolk General Hospital;
Maintain and coordinate all applications and answer inquiries from potential applicants when appropriate;
Facilitate the hiring process including development of seniority lists, sourcing and screening applicants, processing and tracking hiring information, creating letters of offer/transfer, notifying unions and Norfolk General Hospital employees of successful candidates;
Create, distribute, and update offer letters and onboarding packages in accordance to union-based changes, hospital policies, and other relevant factors;
Maintain all job posting files and maintain the temporary and casual employee pool (including job postings, resumes, interview notes and contract expiry reminders);
Update all job descriptions and interview tools, in collaboration with hiring managers;
Collaborate with HR Consultants about recruitment-based discrepancies;
Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Human Resource Management CHRL/CHRP designation with Human Resources Professional Association or working toward
Minimum of three to five years of recruitment & selection experience, preferably in a health care and/or unionized environment
Experience in a high-volume recruitment environment and demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based interview techniques
Sound knowledge of current legislation, human resources practices and policies with a good knowledge of labour/employee relations
Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with a proven effective customer service focus
Excellent time management and prioritization skills to manage varying demands and time constraints
Ability to probe for information, analyze results and present information in a timely manner
Self-directed work habits coupled with positive collaborative abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintain high standards of accuracy, attention to detail, timeliness, and confidentiality
Positive attitude, confident with a pleasant demeanor;
Solution oriented – able to take initiative, to think and plan independently;
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English;
Comprehensive computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word);
Experience with Meditech an asset.

Situated in Norfolk County (Ontario’s South Coast), Simcoe is not far from Lake Erie and the 88 miles of shoreline that includes long stretches of sandy beach.
