POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Surveyor will assist in providing accurate, viable surveying solutions to our operations team and ensure best practices are followed for all survey field activities.
MAGINO MINE:
The Magino Project is a brown-fields site located in northern Ontario, Canada that contains an historical underground gold mine, landfill and tailings management facility (“TMF”). The Corporation has conducted a Feasibility Study during 2017 that examined mining the deposit using conventional open pit mining methods and extraction of gold from the ore using a 10,000 tonnes per day carbon-in-pulp (“CIP”) mineral processing facility. When developed, Magino will produce around 150,000 ounces of gold during the first five years of production. The project has over a 15-year mine production life (including one year of pre-production).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide accurate and viable survey support to the operations team.
Use best practice survey control methods and procedures for any survey related field activities.
Ensure all work performed is documented and recorded accurately.
Assist in field staking.
Perform survey data collection and volume calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
A Mining Technical degree is preferred.
Knowledge of the proper use and care of survey instruments & equipment.
Experience with AutoCAD and survey applications including Trimble Business and TerraModel.
Familiarity with Minesight or other relevant software would be an asset.
Experience transferring relevant information to ensure accurate field staking.
Previous experience working in an open pit mining environment.
Effective communication skills.
Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental workplace standards.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7days on / 7 days off.
