The role is to collect and analyze client information and support the coordination of the development team. Reporting to the Digital Director, you will participate in proposal and user story writing, roadmap planning and developing wireframes. You will be able to create testing strategies and scenarios while participating in testing. Experience with Scrum is a benefit.

You will have experience understanding and communicating clients’ diverse technical needs for websites and digital applications. The ability to manage and follow quality assurance processes is essential. You are an effective communicator both written and orally.

Essential Skills:

  • Participate in the analysis, planning, design, and quality assurance of websites
  • Participate and contribute in website reviews with the development team
  • Working knowledge of key stats, APIs and functional specifications
  • Experience with the following would be an asset:
    • Quality Assurance processes
    • Technical wireframes
    • User story development
    • Roadmap planning
    • Microsoft Suites or Google Docs
  • Basic ability to learn Google Workspace, Dropbox, DocuSign, Mailchimp, Etc.
  • Basic ability to analyze and validate projects built with website development software such as Drupal CMS/WordPress
  • Ability to be analytical
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Basic ability to run test websites and gather notes for development teams
  • Good communication, initiative, and a sense of responsibility
Qualifications:

  • 2 years plus of experience in a business analyst position or quality assurance role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience eliciting high-level business requirements and creating detailed functional specs as well as other documentation like work-flow diagrams and use-cases
  • Experience developing strong client relationships and trust through team coordination, communication, and quality delivery

This internship is funded by the Government of Canada and work terms are under the Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) Program. DS4Y, an initiative from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), provides an opportunity for youth to gain valuable training and work experience needed for today’s digital economy. The candidate must:

  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30, inclusive, at the start of the internship
  • Be a Post-Secondary Graduate (i.e., has completed a diploma or degree following secondary education
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or person who has been granted Refugee Status.
  • Self-assess as Underemployed, meaning they are employed below their level of education and/or hold part-time employment, or are unemployed

The location is for our Whitehorse YT or Yellowknife NWT Office.
Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year, plus benefits.
