PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re looking for an Active Living Manager to join Summerhill PARC retirement residence at nature’s edge near Deep Cove in North Vancouver.
About the Active Living Manager Job
You will play a key role in promoting and executing a dynamic Active Living and Wellness program to PARC residents;
You will foster a sense of true PARC community spirit, build innovative social programming, oversee resident events, develop unique excursions and provide art and cultural options to enrich the lives of residents;
You will support and manage the Drivers, Active Wellness Coaches and volunteers, scheduling these team members effectively to meet the needs of your residence;
Reporting to the General Manager you are responsible for preparing and managing the Active Living Budget and program analytic reports;

About You
You have completed a College Recreation Diploma (or similar equivalent) or University degree such as Health Science, Kinesiology or Gerontology;
You have experience working with seniors in a holistic or wellness recreation role, creating monthly activity calendars, organizing events/outings, preparing budgets, communicating with residents in meaningful conversations regarding programs that address their needs and desires and gauging resident success and satisfaction;
You’ve had success in managing people, including, training and motivating team members and volunteers;
You’re proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint for scheduling events, reporting and presentations;
You can promote all PARC Fit programming to residents for engagement and are comfortable being actively involved in fitness class programming with the Active Wellness Coach;
You have high energy and enthusiasm that will help you to work in our fast paced, diverse environment and allow you to be flexible when plans change unexpectedly;
You’re creative and believe in Active Living for seniors. This will help you drive attendance in our programs and create strong relationships with the residents;
At PARC Retirement Living we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As a result, one of the pre-requisites of employment is that all new hires are fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada.
