FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING MANAGER
at Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre

Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre seeks a Finance and Accounting Manager to manage and execute its accounting and finance functions. Opened in 2012, the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is one of the Yukon’s premier gathering locations, hosting a wide range of functions and celebrations and operating one of the largest meeting spaces in Whitehorse. This Centre contains a diversity of spaces appropriate for conferences and conventions, workshops and weddings, cultural events, and experiences. In addition to its event centre activities, KDCC curates its own cultural programming to promote understanding and appreciation of what it means to be a member of Kwanlin Dün First Nation and a member of a Yukon First Nation. KDCC operates all its programs and services within a responsible fiscal context and maintains a strong financial track record through excellent financial management.
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for:
· Full-cycle accounting, maintaining the general ledger system with the preparation and review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations and undertaking a regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
. Monthly preparation of financial statements including year-to-date, budget, forecast, and variances
· Coordinating the budgeting and forecasting process with Executive Director
· Remitting government taxes such as payroll and GST
· Management of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· Preparation of bi-weekly payroll
· Preparation of year end audit and reporting to auditors
· Management of all finance and accounting documentation
· Daily, weekly, monthly reporting to the executive director on financial standing
· Bank reconciliation, deposits, account management and signing authority
· Bank relations including signing authorities and investment management to maximize investment income
· Researching accounting issues for compliance
· Assist with regulatory reporting as applicable
· Ensure timely processing of invoices
· Ensure deadlines are met
· Prepare various accounting policies and procedures with Executive Director.
Here are the experience and skills you possess for this position:
· Accounting or business degree or diploma
· 5+ years of recent relevant accounting and financial experience
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Strong communication and team-working skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
· Full Cycle Accounting experience required
· Canadian Payroll experience required
· Solid technology and analytical abilities

Salary: $62,500-$75,000 based on experience.
