JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: LOGISTICS & MATERIAL SUPERVISOR
JOB FUNCTION:
Reporting to the LOGISTICS & MATERIAL SUPERVISOR the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for supporting daily operations and operations requirements as it relates to the running of the plant and supporting leading strategy & development of the organization’s Transportation Management System (TMS) to support optimization of all shipping lanes, LTL and expedited freight. As well the Logistics & Materials Lead will provide feedback on potential freight costs & savings initiatives, cost avoidances and opportunities or threats to this commodity. The role will require utilization of the ERP/MRP system and a Transportation Management System (TMS) for optimized results and fleet management. The Logistics Coordinator ensures quality is a priority towards achieving positive end results and customer satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customs Experience and Ocean/Air Shipment Experience
- Schedule Drivers (5 Drivers in Windsor)
- Back up and assist the Logistics Supervisor with the day to day and in their absence
- Complete the IFTA and BC400 reports every quarter and submit them
- Obtain quotes and create POs for all necessary equipment needed for the Logistics Department in Windsor
- Oversee, evaluate, help approve the freight costs which include trucking, air and ocean costs, and oversee Titanium functions, costs for all Windsor locations
- Review Driver’s Logs and ELD’s daily
- Create and maintain USMCA’s and CUSMA’s for customs purposes
- Oversee duty savings opportunities with regards to customs tariffs/duties
- Complete repair declarations for customs purposes
- Develop and plan out driver’s routes daily (in coordination with other logistics coordinator.
- Participate and assist with any customs issues/audits
- Assist Estimating & Procurement with freight costs and customs duties and tariffs
- Attend all meetings and seminars as required
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
- Set up courier with UPS, FedEx and Purolator
COLLABORATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with PM team and operations teams regarding shipping/receiving and logistics.
- Provide input towards improvements on logistics procedures and support implementation.
- Participate and support in required meetings and training as requested.
- Supports operations through utilization of ERP/MRP system.
- Supports quality and supply chain team.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook and Excel)
- Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong Leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
- Proficient in time management and communication skills
- 3+ years managing a fleet and coordinating drivers
- 3+ years’ experience in logistics within a similar industry & work environment
- Previous experience in Shipping/Receiving is an asset to applicants
- Ability to utilize ERP/MRP and data input as needed.
- Ability to work some overtime and some weekends on call as required
- Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check
- Wages will be based on experience and can be negotiable
