The Management Services Division administers the internal infrastructure and systems that contribute to improved service delivery for the Ministries of Municipal Affairs; Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation; Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport; and Labour. Lines of business include: Budget and financial management, facilities, information technology, human resources, corporate planning and compliance reporting, correspondence and FOI and records management.
The Financial Services Branch supports the Economy Sector, by providing financial management, oversight of ministry budgets, procurement, and facilities services. The branch offers cost-effective financial support in the areas of financial planning and reporting, financial operations and contract policy and review.
As the Financial Analyst, you would provide financial analyst services as part of a central Financial Operations Branch to the Economy Sector. The Analyst ensures the timely preparations of Month End, Quarter and Fiscal Year End reports, monitors and reconciles balance sheet STOBs and provides expert knowledge and guidance in correcting issues and advising on policy and procedures to financial program staff.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Diploma in the field of financial management, such as the Financial Management Certificate Program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Two (2) years’ experience working in the AP (Accounts Payable), GL (General Ledger), and PO (Purchase Order) modules of CFS (Corporate Financial System) Financials and in running reports, and knowledge of how modules interrelate; or experience with another large financial system may be considered as equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the application of general finance and administration policies and processes.
Experience in financial reporting, and financial systems and controls including managing financial operations and managing financial policy.
Intermediate level experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Minimum one (1) year experience analyzing and developing financial reports.
Experience working with financial accounting systems, procedures and control mechanisms.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
Experience in CAS Oracle Fixed Asset Module.
Experience coordinating Quarter End/Fiscal Year End Financial Reporting Packages for submission to OCG.
Experience in applying and interpreting CPPM (Core Policy and Procedures Manual) Capital Asset Policy & Procedures.
Experience in running, analyzing and/or developing CAS Discoverer reports.
