HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Parkland CLASS is a dynamic human services organization with 600 employees and proprietors. Based out of Red Deer, we provide supports to adults and children with developmental disabilities in Central Alberta.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will oversee and provide assistance to all HR functions, including Labour Relations, Health and Safety, Scheduling, Recruitment and Selection, and Training and Development. In this position, your primary focus will be on the administrative tasks related to processing WCB claims, Health & Safety processes, disability management and return to work planning. You will work collaboratively with the service team and support the Director of HR in leading the department’s initiatives.

As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in claims and disability management, experience with supervising a team, and good working knowledge of AB Labour Standards, Human Rights, WCB and OHS Legislation. A well rounded background, working in a variety of HR functions, a unionized environment, and the not-for-profit sector would be preferred. Candidates must be team oriented, self-initiated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is necessary for success in this fast paced work environment. Experience working with an HRIS system (Microsoft NAV is an asset), a degree/diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience in roles with progressive responsibility is required.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Annual Salary: $67,891.20
