As an Accounting Technician you will be operating in a fast-paced environment with ties to both GRS Operations and Client Cash Management. The Accounting Technician is responsible for financial transaction processing and suspense account reconciliations ensuring outstanding items are cleared on a timely basis and financial controls are in place.
What you will do
- Reporting and clearing of general ledger accounts for multiple business lines using advanced Excel and Access techniques.
- Preparing account reconciliations according to corporate policy and accounting standards
- Preparing and processing of journal vouchers and cheques.
- Investigation and resolution of accounting issues including manipulation and analysis of large amounts of data.
- Provide assistance to internal business partners.
- Daily cash settlement, provide quarterly financial suspense reports to Corporate Finance, initiate investigation with system support.
- Handling inquiries and requests from multiple audiences.
- Providing coverage to other roles on the team.
What you will bring
- Customer Service focus with a can-do attitude.
- Accounting certificate or related experience an asset.
- Expert Excel user.
- Experienced with accounting processes and account reconciliation.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Self-motivated, strong team commitment, and able to work with limited direction
- Ability and desire to produce quality work
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
