Job Summary
We are seeking a candidate to join our Logistics Department in the role of Logistics/Trader Assistant, assisting accounting department for immediate start, with the opportunity of developing into a trading role. Ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced/detailed oriented environment and that is driven to succeed.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Liaise with clients, vendors and third parties on land and ocean shipments requirements and ensuring shipments are handled on a timely basis
- Research, negotiate and procure transportation tenders and quotations
- Prepare receiving and shipping documents and export container load plan
- Maintain quality results by following export standards, procedures, and regulations
- Prepare all necessary documentation required for freight movement
- Monitor shipment movements, strong follow up required
- Active involvement with problem-solving of issues
- Sales aptitude and a professional phone manner required
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise
Qualifications and Skills
College / University degree
- Spanish fluency a definite asset
- Interested in international business or commodity trading industry * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook and other computerized systems
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Able to cope effectively (and positively) with changing situations and business environment
- Excellent, courteous phone demeanor with the ability to project enthusiasm through the voice to achieve sales
- Strong reasoning ability (logic) is required to resolve dispatch sales efficiencies
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $35,000.00-$36,000.00 per year
