Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Manager of Software Development to join our team. The position will be based from our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.
This position is a first level manager role in support of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) organization. In this role you will lead an Agile software development team and work within and across the Maintenance Performance Toolbox Team.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees, contractors and purchase services teams performing software development activities.
In partnership with product management, develops and executes integrated portfolio plans, including portfolio business and technical strategies, goals and priorities.
Acquires resources for product development activities and oversees purchased services deliverables.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight of technical approaches and guidance on development processes.
Ensures adherence to software quality, safety and other compliance requirements.
Implements software development methodologies to achieve efficiency and quality goals
Responsible for the performance management, career development and recruitment of employees.
Drives employee engagement
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
5+ years of experience in software product development, integration and delivery
3+ years of experience in a software development leadership role
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Experience in a software development management role
Scaled Agile (SAFe) software development experience
Mobile development experience nice to have.
