Neo-Image Candlelight Ltd. is a family-owned and operated candle manufacturing company located in Mississauga Ontario. We have been in continuous business since 1976 serving the consumer and commercial industries. We design, manufacture and market our products through traditional wholesale channels and direct channels such as our award-winning online website and our company-owned retail stores under our Yummi Candles banner.
We have a career opening for a seasoned Accountant who will perform and analyze all financial facets of our business. The ideal candidate must have excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Background knowledge in the consumer goods manufacturing sector and working knowledge of accounting software is beneficial.
The following responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting duties- not limited to preparing cash flow projections and equity reports
- Post journal entries/opening and closing entries to pre-financial statements
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis, for projects
- Post accruals, cash receipts, quarter and month-end adjusting entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare documents for fiscal year ends
- Reconcile HST remittance, and Trust statements monthly
- Lead the annual planning, monthly financial reporting and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate chart of accounts, analyze and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping initiatives.
- Maintain up to date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.
- Maintain the payroll and employees’ files and prepare T4’S for employees and CRA.
- Conduct analysis of financial results, including budget to actual (margin, freight, operating expenses and overhead), interpret results for management and provide recommendations as appropriate.
- Support management to establish corporate financial strategies, planning, monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external accounting firm for year-end review and corporate tax preparation.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce or Business Administration
- Completed Accounting designation in CPA, CA, CGA, CMA
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in full cycle Accounting
- Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Sage 50 Accounting software, including company file setup.
- Understanding GAAP and CRA regulations related to small businesses
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Speed, accuracy, and meticulous eye for detail
- Able to work well independently or as a team player

Salary: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
