Dawson College Looking for Administrative Support Agent, Class I at Montréal, QC Full Time

NATURE OF WORK

The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing a set of administrative functions of a relatively complex nature according to established methods and procedures and clerical functions related to the daily operation of the Audio-Visual and Printing Services.

For temporary replacement purposes, secondary functions will include, but are not limited to, assignment to shipping & receiving and mail services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides counter service in the Service Center for both Printing and Audio-Visual needs
• Responds to maintenance calls on campus;
• Reserves, prepares, distributes, receives and stores all equipment and materials in the Audio-Visual and Printing Services according to established policies & procedures;
• Maintains a booking system for the equipment, materials and facilities;
• Explains and demonstrates the functioning of the equipment and systems to users;
• Responds to complaints from users regarding the equipment and related problems;
• Orders materials and supplies ensuring that a sufficient stock of projection bulbs, cables, lamps and other items are available at all times;
• Evaluates and performs necessary adjustments and calibration on the equipment;
• Modifies the operation of equipment to adapt it to some specific needs;
• Handles the issuing and validation of ID cards as required;
• Operates the high-speed photocopiers/duplicators and network printers;
• Assists in the finishing of print jobs such as cerlox, punching and binding, padding, stapling, folding, and cutting for print jobs as requited;
• Aids in receiving, sorting and recording printing orders; and aids in the packaging and preparation of bulk printing jobs as required;
• Verifies accuracy of merchandise for printing and AV as per packing slips and purchase orders; receives and delivers merchandise;
• Ensures that all norms and procedures vis-à-vis receiving and college inventory are observed;
• Serves as back up for internal mail services as required;
• Supports Auxiliary Services in tasks related to other areas of the department including but not limited to Service Center (print shop/AV), PARC, bookstore, and receiving;
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS

To have a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) with appropriate specialty or a secondary school diploma (DES) or have a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have at least one (1) year of pertinent experience.

CONDITIONS

• Advanced communication skills in English (testing may be required)
• Basic French verbal skills (testing may be required)
• Proven knowledge of printing and audio-visual equipment
• Proven ability of successful multitasking in a team environment
• Intermediate Word and Excel skills (testing may be required)
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
