Kivuto Solutions Looking for Front-End Developer at Ottawa, ON Full Time

Kivuto is looking for an experienced, skilled, and enthusiastic React focussed Front-End Developer to join our Software Development Team. Day-to-Day

Working closely with our UI designer and development team, you will be working to create dynamic React based intuitive user experiences as part of the next-generation version of our core platform. Embracing an agile environment with engineering and product management, you will participate in the design, development, and deployment of a modern UI experience. Within the engineering team, you will use the latest tools to modernize our platform, creating visual interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use while optimizing for maintainability and scalability. With close cooperation from our product management team and UI designer, you will bring to life our customer requirements as powerful visuals within of our best-in-class product. Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing new features in our modern eCommerce solution.
• Working together with UI/UX Designers and Full Stack Developers to enhance usability, accessibility, and performance.
• Developing code and libraries with a Performance-first intent such that they are easily traceable and enhanced in future.
• Ensuring all web and mobile development and content is compliant with all applicable legislative requirements (e.g., privacy legislation, WCAG compliance, etc.).
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, sharing knowledge with team members.
• Coordinate dependencies with QA and UI/UX to ensure a successful delivery of all planned Stories within a test-driven, iterative methodology where Quality is “built-in” not “tested-in”.
• Working closely with DevOps, utilize existing tools and technology to deploy your code in appropriate environments for testing.
• Embrace Ambiguity, willing to implement incrementally in the right direction.
• Contribute to a culture of high performance that fosters ownership and accountability, meeting your commitments and asking for help when you need to.
• Inspecting and troubleshooting bugs and other QA issues.
• Being up to date with current trends and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• B.Sc/BA in computer science, or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in the Software Development of high-performance SaaS solutions and/or eCommerce solutions using all or most of the following technologies:

• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages.
• Writing and consuming REST APIs (experience with OData v4 a plus)
• SQL Server
• Git & Gitflow-based workflow
• Linux/Windows Subsystem for Linux
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and building scalable, secure SaaS solutions
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling and partial page updates.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.

• Excellent knowledge of cross-browser compatibility.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with members of a dedicated team.

Nice to Have:

• Experience inheriting an outsourced application and becoming a resident SME.
• Experience with eCommerce or Higher Education software considered an asset.
• Experience with some or all the following technologies:

• Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Distributed Data Stores (CosmosDB, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and shell script.
