The Corporate Business Management & Colleague Experience (BM&CE team) within the CTO bring together colleague engagement capabilities to provide exceptional experiences for colleagues. The Senior Manager, Business Management – Associates Talent Program will be responsible for the overall strategy, planning and execution of the Finance and Accounting Program (FAAP), Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM), and the Internal Audit (IA) Associates Talent Programs. The position includes the stewardship and overall administration on behalf of Finance, TBSM and IA Associate Talent programs, including functioning as the People Manager to the Associates during the program.

This role will report into the AVP of Business Management and Operations on the BM&CE team, with dotted line to the Executive sponsors for the Finance, TBSM and IA programs. Key responsibilities include:
Strategy, Advice and Planning

• Present to senior leaders within Treasury, Finance and Audit on program including successes and opportunities
• Advise on the direction of the programs constantly identifying enhancements, innovations, risks and opportunities
• Project manage all rotations over the program(s), supporting leadership in assigning Associates to positions and facilitating onboarding and orientation
• Designing and planning Associate Program training sessions and facilitating as required
• Assist in curriculum review and L&D planning to support optimal training for the Associates, partnering with L&D as appropriate
• Collaborate with external vendors to offer customized training as required
• For the CPA-Audit Program, be an active member of the committee and advise on key issues to enhance program management to attract, retain and develop talent

Recruitment and Retention

• Leading recruitment and assessment of applicants; working in partnership with the Talent Acquisition and the Businesses
• Prioritizing diversity objectives for the businesses
• Creating and executing on events related to the program (on campus, networking, diversity, social activities)
• Champion and promote the Associate program for Treasury, Finance and Audit teams, TD and external, with some business travel
• Stay abreast of talent trends to ensure target recruitment capabilities align with the current and future talent needs for the business
• Collaborate to support and advise the business with off boarding and brokering full-time roles for the Associates within the respective businesses
• Networking internally and externally; often in the evening during campus recruitment season, occasional weekends and routinely throughout the year

Coaching and Developing; performance management

• Manage and coach a team of 30+ direct report Associates
• Coach and lead the Associates during the program, providing feedback and direction related to performance, responding to questions or concerns from Associates
• Manage year end process including merit and incentive discussions
• Coach and support People Managers hosting Associates; finding solutions to continuously deliver positive employee experiences

Co-op / Intern Council

• Advocate on behalf of Early Talent for the co-op / intern talent stream
• Advise businesses on the process to recruit this talent
• Partner with business to develop job descriptions
• Work with key stakeholders to plan and support orientation

Employee Engagement

• Act as Champion to represent the Associates in committee meetings, update meetings and discussions with the business
• Lead activities for the programs using fair and balanced decision making coupled with transparency
• Operate with discretion and confidentiality to support business decisions and talent movement
• Develop, support and execute on additional development and employee engagement programs; mentor programs; support R&R Programs, TD Pulse, etc.

Budget and Administration

• Manage budget prudently; using funding wisely to develop, engage and support the programs
• Reporting on budgeting and planning process
• Tracking performance and retention

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Excellent people management and mentoring skills; ability to provide candid balanced feedback to develop Associates
• Demonstrated project management skills coupled with ability to partner with and influence individuals and cross-functional teams
• Ability and demonstrated experience in exercising sound judgment in dealing with sensitive information and situations and in providing sound communication/counsel to executives in relation to the Associate Program
• Firm understanding of employee relations and regulations
• Understanding of Talent issues and trends; recommending scalable solutions immediately and for the future
• Subject Matter Expert in recruitment and sourcing talent
• Promote TD’s brand in the marketplace through developing and maintaining strong candidate and industry networks
• Superior attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills coupled with an ability to deliver high quality work under pressure.
