Our expectations

Reporting to the Transportation Coach, the primary role of the Transportation Coordinator will coordinate and execute the automated freight payment process by using the Transportation Management System (TMS), for Quebec and Ontario distribution centres. The incumbent will also support the planning process for deliveries and pickup requests or transfers request and will conduct follow-ups. Finally, they will provide unparalleled customer service to their internal and external clients.

Your role

• Understand and support the planning process of delivery and pickup routes using a TMS for the Quebec and Ontario region
  • Understand and support the planning process of LBM deliveries for the Quebec and Ontario region
  • Enhance TMS usage by contributing to the improvement of its quality and processes
  • Provide service to Lowe’s Canada’s customers, suppliers and carriers
  • Coordinate and execute the process of Automated Freight Pay through the systems:

  o Perform the match variance analysis between voucher and Freight bill
  o Do the correction of the rate/miles on voucher
  o In collaboration with optimization team informing carrier of the correct charge codes expected
  o Add missing charge codes (usually tax- GST,HST,Carbon Tax)
  o Correcting Fuel Surcharge (FSC) rates by adjusting ship dates in OTM or JDA-TMS
  o Correcting Incorrect Destinations and adding missing lanes
  o Review the voucher estimates for validity or review why we do not have a voucher in TMS
  o Investigate issues in collaboration with our Finance Freight Pay team and EDI team

  • Inform customers and suppliers of transportation procedures
  • Support the trailers management overflow, manage add-ons and prioritize loading schedule
  • Ensure communication between shipping and receiving for transportation equipment

The qualifications we are looking for

• College degree in business administration or transportation and logistics
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant transportation experience
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (an important asset)
  • Knowledge of Canadian geography
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Excel Advanced
  • Ability to resolve operational problems and technology savvy
  • Can-do attitude and results-driven approach
  • Team player attitude
  • Good logistical problem-solving skills
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure in a frequently changing environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Available to do replacements on different shifts
