Apple Hills Medical Associates Looking for Receptionist at Mississauga, ON Full Time

Position Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer, screen and route incoming calls promptly and courteously
• Book appointments with appropriate medical professional
• Greet, check-in and direct patients in an efficient and welcoming manner
• Verify and update patient demographics on ACCURO EMR
• Schedule and process new patients according to office protocol
• Identify patients with acute care needs and notify medical staff as appropriate
• Resolve areas of conflict effectively and professionally
• Monitor provider schedules and notify lead receptionist as required
• Confirm appointment and verify health cards and version codes
• Receive and process payments from patients by debit, cash, cheque or Visa
• Maintain an organized , clean and efficient work area
• Maintain sufficient copies for front desk reception forms
• Redirect patients as necessary to other on-call Summerville Family Health Team clinic location as appropriate
• Ensure that phone lines are closed with the correct message at the end of each day
• Unlock/Lock doors as well as arm/disarm the alarm system
• Additional duties as required

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Knowledge of and experience with EMR
• One year of relevant experience in a health care environment
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work effectively and demonstrate composure in a fast paced and changing environment Excellent English written and verbal communication skills a MUST
