Supervisory Responsibilities Perform and supervise a range of auditing, tax, and accounting issues from start to finish and oversee larger, more complex engagements. Plan and coordinate the various phases of the fieldwork such as staff requirements, logistics, audit programs, and time budgets. Schedule, delegate, and review the work of staff members, support on-the-job training, and evaluate staff performance. Guide the decision making process on all but the most unusual audit and accounting matters. Ensure complete and timely engagement wrap-up to include preparation and/or review financial statement and tax return. Schedule, plan and establish work priorities for the team. Ensure that appropriate skill level of staff is assigned to various files undertaken. Participate in business development initiatives and take on a leadership role in mentoring and training staff. Involvement in evaluations and compensation recommendations for all staff. Undertake a significant administrative role in firm. For example: Interviewing and hiring for all levels up to manager position. Minimum available hours to be chargeable as specified on an annual basis. Accounting, Audit and Tax Responsibilities Demonstrated ability to research and disseminate GAAP and GAAS issues and pending and proposed GAAP and GAAS. Evaluate the client’s internal controls, prepare an audit program outlining the extent of sampling required, and schedule the engagement. Review working papers for accuracy and completion, financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures, tax returns, and documentation of discussions with clients. Break down complicated tax returns into tasks for staff accountants to complete, review tax returns, and suggest client tax planning. Keep the Partner updated of the progress of the engagement, consult with them on problem areas, review with them any significant audit findings, and recognize client service opportunities to follow-up on post fieldwork. Participate in special projects as requested by Partner. Assisting in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients. Prepare practical and creative solutions to the client’s tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Development Responsibilities Is the primary point of contact for a group of clients. Guides progress of multiple engagements while maintaining client satisfaction. Actively seek opportunities to expand services to existing clients and develop new business. Ability to interact with clients and potential clients to help drive business development. Administrative Responsibilities Promote and uphold the firm’s policies and procedures, and become knowledgeable in the firm’s services. Review WIP on a timely basis and prepare invoices. Prepare regular and timely staff evaluations. Must Have Skills CPA Designation | Must be working at an Accounting/ Public Practice Firm.
