Position Overview:
As a Financial Analyst, you will be working with the Accounting Manager and the Finance team, you are responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and taxation. We are looking for an experienced financial analyst to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, financial risk management, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting operations and support our business unit including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, T&E, Cost Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and month-end
Manage the day-to-day treasury and banking operations
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and internal management reports
Coordinate the preparation of financial reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure financial activities are aligned with organizational strategic goals
Participate in business development activities and support the organization’s strategic goals
Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, financial advisors, etc.
Additional finance duties as required
Requirements:
Professional CPA accounting designation 5+ years experience in finance operations and full-cycle accounting functions
Thorough knowledge of IFRS
Experience in financial reporting for public companies (TSX or TSX Venture)
Experience in income tax accounting, income tax return preparation, treasury functions, financial planning, analysis, and budgeting
Strong ability to communicate clearly, experience in presenting to senior leadership levels
Excellent leadership skills with a strong desire to mentor and motivate staff
Prior experience working in healthcare and/or technology companies is an asset
Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, good command of the English language, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work varying shifts and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives and participate in a yearly staff performance review.
