Reporting to the Coordinator of Client Support, you will research, design, evaluate, implement, and maintain the end user computing environment at the City of Regina. This dynamic technical environment consists of a variety of hardware and various application presentation and virtualization techniques.
You will be responsible for: Scoping, planning, testing and implementation of the City’s end point management strategy, specifically moving and maintaining the City’s platform and configuration strategies to cloud management. The corporate client management solution which provisions the operating system image builds/refreshes, software deployment and patch maintenance and for troubleshooting and resolving escalated functional issues relating to the end user computing environment. Providing technical leadership on projects relating to the end user computing environment using project management principles and processes to plan, deliver and provide status on work, and ensure adherence to Agile project management methodology.
Evaluating, recommending, installing, testing, configuring and maintaining the end point management environment including operating systems, software, equipment and cloud management strategies.

Education & Experience
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through a two (2) year diploma in Computer Engineering Technology or a university degree in Computer Science and/or four (4) to six (6) years of experience in computer workstation management, administration and software packaging and deployment methodologies.
Certification in Microsoft, Linux, virtualization, project management and/or ITIL would be an asset.
Advanced knowledge and experience with components included in Microsoft Endpoint Manager: Configuration Manager, Intune, Azure AD, Defender, M365, Autopilot, Desktop Analytics.
Experience with computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
Experience with desktop virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware a plus. Experience with Windows technologies such as File Services, Group Policy, AD and AAD. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Considerable knowledge in software deployment best practices including knowledge and experience with various programming and scripting techniques
Proven knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems, multi-domain Microsoft Active Directory security architectures, Microsoft’s M365 Cloud Management, M365 suite, Azure Active Directory, and Windows Enterprise (1800+ users)
Knowledge and experience with various programming and scripting techniques. Ability to create PowerShell scripts to automate tasks or run cmdletsscripts to gather information or make changes
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Teams Phone System deployment
Experience with configuring device enrollment and workloads to drive automation
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to create and document technical information, and operating standards and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with and communicate to all levels internal and external to the organization
Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, and work with a considerable amount of independence demonstrating strong analysis, problem solving, decision-making and strategic action planning capacity
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and develop solutions to complex technical problems under pressure
Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues is required with the ability to understand how it relates to the City’s environment and make recommendations
Experience with Anti-virus solutions and knowledge of cybersecurity risk management concepts
Keen attention to detail
Knowledge and experience with Agile project management techniques related to Information Technology projects Working/Other Conditions
Note: This position may be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and may be required to work irregular shifts.
Valid class 5 drivers license is required with occasional travel required between City locations.
