The Academic Scheduler will be responsible for overseeing all phases of academic course schedules for the College and providing a high level of commitment to excellence and integrity in serving all key stakeholders.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of creating the academic course schedule, including course data entry.
Work with the academic department to create a conflict-free, accurate schedule that balances efficiency, department needs, student needs, fairness and university policy for each semester.
Ensure accuracy of all course listings, including comments, fees and fee codes drop/add dates, all restrictions, pre-requisites saved seats, fees, course descriptions and other courses specifics by auditing all course information against the university course catalogue.
Innovate, develop, revise and document schedule policy and procedure to maximize efficiency, fairness and meeting of department and student needs.
Track all changes to the schedule and communicate changes to students.
Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of schedule information, including the creation and uploading of printable schedules.
Manage manual registration for the student groups.
Oversee textbook entry in SIS and follow-up with faculty regarding omissions or adjustments.
Enforce adherence to the academic calendar, building hours and other College policies.
Monitor and report on scheduling trends related to the College meeting and planning for academic space needs.
Learn and maintain knowledge of general registration processes and answer basic registration questions for students and staff.
Collaborate with other team members on waitlists, graduation clearance fairs, orientations, bulk communications and other projects as assigned.
Participate in conflict resolution related to space needs.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
Advance Knowledge MS Office Suite
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline required.
Prior experience working in public college/university: 2 -3 years
Excellent customer service, verbal/written communication skills, organization and conflict resolution abilities a necessity.
Ability to track details precisely and interpret and apply college policies.
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
