TROUT RIVER INDUSTRIES Looking for Human Resources & Payroll Admin at Coleman, PE Full Time

We are looking for a Human Resources & Payroll Administrator, who will be responsible for maintaining adherence to accurate payroll and benefits administration, and local human resources support.

Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 42.5 hour work week
• Must be able to commute between Coleman and Bloomfield locations

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly payroll through daily payroll tasks, investigating discrepancies and pay period end electronic payroll submission
• Processes employee status administration, including new hire, termination and existing employee payroll and personal data changes.
• Completes monthly reports for production hours, absenteeism, new hires, and terminations.
• Processes Year End T4s.
• Processes group benefit applications and assists employees with submitting claims
• Updates Apprentice books with working hours from payroll system and processes boot receipts.
• Maintains all employee personnel/payroll files ensuring all required information is obtained and filed regularly
• Prepares summary sheet for six-month probation and year end performance reviews
• Collects and screens resumes, coordinates interviews and conducts new hire orientations
• Liaise with SkillsPEI and other government bodies in relation to employment grants and funding
• Liaise with Immigration Department and have a working knowledge of immigration programs
• Administer DPSP and health benefits program
• Advise and coaches staff on work related issues following employment legislation
• Answers internal and external inquiries concerning payroll, benefits, employment standards, prepares reference letters requested, staff files, etc.
• Organizes staff events (e.g. BBQs, Christmas party)
• Updates Production board file with employee pictures and positions

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Two years of administration experience in a busy office environment
• Basic accounting knowledge (debits/credits)
• Experience processing Payroll and related administration preferred
• Experience with the HR recruitment process preferred
• Payroll or HR related post-secondary education an asset
• Experience in the manufacturing industry an asset

• General knowledge of various employment laws and practices preferred
• Effective oral and written English communication skills
