Mandate:
To support the transformational growth at Geosource Energy Inc. (“GEI” or the “Company”) the IT Manager & Information Security Officer will serve to as the Company’s technology lead with oversight into all Information Systems, hardware and cyber security. The successful candidate will have autonomy to hire a team as GEI scales its operations.
The incumbent technical expert that can both build and execute the strategic IT plan in conjunction with GEI. The position will work collaboratively with the GEI Finance & IP teams to create innovative solutions to integrate and manage their technology. Moreover, there will be a requirement to work closely with third-party software developers as GEI rolls out a fully customized software solution. The role will initially be project based and grow into the managing of a future IT department.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems (and related licenses), security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware;
· Track and maintain hardware and software inventory;
· Assist in training employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed;
· Assess company security measures for vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
· Write and implement policy related to IT and data security.
· Manage growing portfolio of company hardware and software, including cloud server.
· Manage additional IT staff in the future as may be required.
Required Qualifications:
· College diploma or University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering;
· 3+ years of on-the-job experience;

Work Experience:
· Portfolio management experience as it relates to company software and hardware;
· Experience building an IT team through recruitment and training would be considered an asset.
