Who Should Apply?

STEM Montessori Academy of Canada is seeking Enthusiastic, engaging University students, Club facilitators, Instructors, or Teachers with expertise in the subject areas for online programming. STEM Canada is seeking instructors for our fall programming.

Planned Start Date: ASAP

**Candidates should be available for various shift times for consideration. This temporary contract is on an as-needed basis, and it is based on enrollment. The dates, shifts and hours are not guaranteed.

Weeks of Work: Ongoing until June in 8-week intervals.

Contract Length: 6 months

Part-time hours: 5 hours – 15 hours per week (based on your availability).

* YOU MUST HOLD A VALID VULNERABLE SECTOR POLICE CLEARANCE CHECK. Must be valid within the last 12 months.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced virtual mechanical engineering instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the various subfields of mechanical engineering and will be able to effectively educate and inspire students to not only understand the principles of mechanical engineering, but also to apply their knowledge to improve real-world situations.

DUTIES:

• Planning and delivering engaging and interactive virtual lessons that cover the various subfields of mechanical engineering.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
• Staying current with industry developments and incorporating new knowledge into the curriculum.
• Supporting and mentoring students as they work on project and assignments.
• Creating and updating course materials, such as lesson plans, quizzes, and exams.
• Leading laboratory or field work sessions to give students hands-on experience with mechanical engineering principles and techniques.
• Collaborating with other instructors and department heads to develop and improve the mechanical engineering curriculum.
• Using technology and other instructional strategies to foster student engagement, encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• ** Vulnerable Sector police clearance check – A MUST within the last 12-months

from date of issue. **

• Strong understanding of various subfields of mechanical engineering, and ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to ages between 6-18 years old students.
• Capable of utilizing modern technologies, online simulators, incorporating online labs, and interactive activities.
• Ability to generate unique and innovative lesson plans focusing on mechanical engineering is essential.
• Exhibit personal suitability and flexibility
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous online teaching experience would be an asset.
