Position Summary:

If so, this the opportunity for you. UFA has a term opportunity for you to report to the Manager, Human Resources Operations, as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in 2023. In this position you will be dedicated to sourcing and recruitment of talent. You will identify, develop, and coordinate talent attraction, retention initiatives, and career events; and research, develop, and apply best practices to provide innovative recruitment approaches. You will also have the opportunity to be a part of the transition to our new HRIS platform. This position represents UFA externally, by identifying and capitalizing on community and business partnership opportunities.

Term: up to 12 months

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and consult on recruitment strategies and initiatives applying best practices. Educate business units on resourcing and retention strategies.
  • Act upon approved hiring requests from business units and develop internal and external job postings. Manage external recruitment relationships and collaborates with agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in Career Fairs promoting UFA to potential candidates. Identifies and initiates internal and external opportunities to promote working with UFA.
  • Focus on diversity, inclusion, and belonging in hiring practices.
  • Manage the UFA resume database; screen, filter and forward resumes to managers and HR Consultants on a timely basis. Track all posting activities on the Posting Tracking Sheet and report on recruitment metrics.
  • Conduct initial pre-screen interviews and provide a recommended short list for interviews.
  • Coordinate, and lead interviews as needed with managers and/or HR Business Partners.
  • Provide quality front end service to internal/external partners on HR related inquiries by responding or referring the inquiry as appropriate.
  • Promote UFA’s Employee Value Proposition and employer brand; and
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Commerce, Human Resources, Administration).
  • 5 years of progressive HR experience or a relevant combination of skills, experience, and education.
  • RPR or CPHR designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated resourcing and recruitment expertise.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and data management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with computer software including Microsoft office software, SAP, SuccessFactors, and other Human Resource Information Systems.
  • Ability to influence others towards positive outcomes.
  • Strong business partner service orientation including needs assessment and consultation of business needs.
  • Understanding of the employment market, trends, demographics, and best practice strategies to promote out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Forward thinking and self -motivated to take action.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exercises discretion with confidential information.
