Drax Looking for Human Resources Co-op Student at Prince George, BC Full Time

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Professionalism and Communication

• Provide timely email, written, and verbal communication to team members.
• Support administrative functions as required within the Canadian HR team.
• Ensure the highest level of confidentiality, while handling employee related requests and documentation.
• Review and audit employee files for accuracy and integrity.

Data Gathering & Document Management

• Gather information from internal files, records, and through interactions with colleagues for auditing purposes.
• Review and audit employee files for accuracy and integrity.
• Identifying and making suggestions to improve processes and procedures to be more efficient.
• Use of excel spreadsheets, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams or Outlook will be required for tasks

Other areas and duties as may reasonably be assigned will also fall under the HR Co-op student.

Minimum Requirements (Experience, Education, Qualifications, Skills, Abilities)

• Previous experience working in an administrative, office, or human resources setting would be considered an asset.
• Professional attitude and mindset when working with employees and colleagues is important.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are a key component of this role.
• Ability to work independently with little direction at times is a requirement.
• Ability to understand, create, and develop templates and basic checklists associated with HR projects.
• Previous demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong computer skills would be a major asset.
• Able to adapt to changes and show initiative when completing work tasks independently.
• Must be a team player with good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Student Criteria:

• The ideal candidate will be a student in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of student in a relevant field of study such as Psychology, Human Resources, or Business. Consideration may be given to a recent graduate who possesses the relevant skillset for the role
• Applicants may be asked to provide proof of student enrollment to be eligible for the Co-op position and are encouraged to upload current transcripts with their application at the time of applying.
