Shah Trading Company Looking for Logistics/Supply Chain Manager at Scarborough, ON Full Time

With imports from over 50 countries and exports to 20, alongside an extensive domestic distribution, Shah Trading has a broad footprint in the global distribution network. As logistics manager, the successful candidate will be the maestro – coordinating and organizing an efficient flow of goods across the globe. They will have the overall responsibility for managing the transport needs of the organization, ensuring that goods are coming in and going out at the right time and cost.

Responsibilities::

• Own the logistics costs of our inbound and outbound shipments.
• Manage a team of analysts responsible for the day-to-day execution of the import/export/domestic transport requirements.
• Act as the main contact for key 3PL service partners across Canada & Internationally
• Partner with key stakeholders internally to deliver business goals, leverage technology, and improve team performance
• Track & report KPIs on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve service level
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and carriers.
• Ensure that all relevant parties are informed of changes in schedule.
• Ensure all shipments have the correct documentation for imports and exports.
• Work with procurement, sales, and finance to ensure transport costs are properly reflected in our ERP.
• Negotiate favorable rates.
• Manage and resolve any transport issues.
• Manage all compliance with FDA and US Customs regulations, including FSVP compliance.
• Keep up with Custom Regulations & Documentation

Qualifications::

• Education: University Degree, Business and industry-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong understanding of supply chain/operations, preferably 3+ years experience in supply chain
• Effective communicator, both oral & written, with the ability to develop & implement a broad strategy
• Strong interpersonal Capabilities, able to work cross-functionally with other functions, leaders, direct reports & peers.
• Proven analytical skills and ability to use data to make informed business decisions.
• Knowledge of different types of equipment for transportation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a face paced environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must (ERP, Microsoft NAVBC is an asset)
• Excellent Knowledge of brokering truckloads, negotiating rates, carrier development, scheduling pickups, and deliveries, and tracking shipments
• Familiarity with common carrier tariffs, freight classes, NMFCs, TMS systems, and Load Boards is an asset
• Certification with the American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or similar is preferred.
• Experience with Food Industry is an asset
