The Role

TG Minto is a large organization, and we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment. This role will be overseeing our WSIB Administration, and as such should have extensive knowledge of procedures and policies needed. You will also be overseeing our Benefits and overseeing STD, LTD and claims. You will be working alongside our HR and Health and Safety team, as well as helping educate and help our Supervisors with the process. We have a back to work belief and we want to ensure that whoever is in the role has a heart for people, and wants to see them succeed here in the workplace.

Having an understanding of payroll practices would also be considered an asset, that way you can help work alongside our payroll team as well to determine best practices, help with regulations standards and provide a platform for further growth and success.

The Responsibility:

• Administration of benefits – including enrollments, changes & terminations

• Liaise with benefit vendors for claims management

• First point of contact for companywide benefit and pension related inquiries (specifically for the French divisions)

• Conduct monthly benefit and pension audits to ensure accuracy of enrollments, changes, and/or terminations

• Work to streamline processes

• Liaise with payroll for integration and maintenance of transmission files (relating to benefits)
• Drives Dayforce initiatives to implement HR business support policies and procedures in line with System maintenance and technical support.
• Support quality improvement initiatives to streamline, automate and document processes
• Support employee groups by working collaboratively with the members of the HR and Finance departments to support all aspects of employee pay such as onboarding, position changes, grid movement, statutory leaves, sick leaves and other employment events, to ensure that they are reflected and remunerated properly.
• Reconcile, prepare and submit all reports and/or remittances within the required deadlines according to standard procedures (on-line and/or paper submission) for all regulatory organizations i.e. EI, WSIB, WorkSafe BC, CSST, etc.
• Liaises with the EHS Representative on Health and Safety program activities relative to the client group, ensuring awareness and involvement in disability claim (WSIB/WI) and return to work program effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation
• Helps lead or participates in scheduled projects that require interactions between various customers, departments, and hardware/software vendors.
• HRIS specialists must understand these different applications to be able to train new employees in each area.

Education/Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor degree in HR related field with strong experience in HRIS or systems and payroll
• Expertise in WSIB procedures and Benefits
• A high level of computer proficiency, especially with collection data and reporting, is a must for this position. You also need problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
