Actalent Looking for Embedded Software Engineer at Ottawa, ON Full Time

Job Description:

• Porting of common operating system elements from and to other product families within our client’s products.
• Supporting other designers to troubleshoot hardware, software, and system defects and performance issues.
• Documentation and production of the artifacts of the software development process.
• Participate in defect resolution and backlog defect reduction.
• Develop scripts, test utilities, and other development aids to improve designer efficiency.

Top Skills Details:
1) Experience developing using embedded C

2) Linux device driver development experience

3) Knowledge of Networking

Assets:

• Gerrit, Jira
• Pluggable optics/coherent optics
• Embedded Linux User Space
• ARM-based processor

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with the Linux kernel drivers and userspace drivers
• Experience with BSP, Security, and board bring-up
• Fundamentals of structured programming and design concepts
• Interest and aptitude for software development is a must
• Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

Collaboration with stakeholders:

• Consult with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
• Work with product verification and test teams to resolve problems
• Interaction with colleagues on large scale software releases
