Role Overview:
The Stewardship & Activation Specialist is responsible for supporting Diabetes Canada’s (DC’s) donor and sponsor stewardship and activation efforts through the execution of projects and relationship management activities for corporate partners and Major Gift donors across the country. This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated activation and relationship management program to foster lifelong relationships with DC’s supporters.

Location: Flexible work arrangement policy in place, allows for hybrid environment and remote work. This role allows for work from home and on-site on a hybrid basis. You have been provided with more information about our flexible work policy and the flexible work agreement. Candidates must meet the needs of a national team.

This role includes, but not limited to:
Activation and Stewardship (50%)

• Work directly with fund development relationship managers to ensure the day-to-day operations, contractual obligations, and partnership deliverables for all key Corporate and High-End Giving accounts
• Manage, create, and improve business operations supporting the activities for Corporate accounts and Major Gifts accounts
• Manage sponsorship budgets and critical paths, clearly outlining the key sponsorship deliverables and the roles and responsibilities of corporate partners and DC teams
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to ensure cooperation and effective roll out of sponsorship deliverables / contractual obligations
• Develops and creates personalized stewardship reports that drive partnership renewal, as well as custom-made creative briefs for large-scale corporate partnerships, and High-End Giving accounts
• Writes and develops thoughtful correspondence, including thank you and congratulatory letters, partner acknowledgements and social media posts

Project Management (50%)

• Actively manage projects such as: stewardship reports, statements of work, recognition events
• Support fund development team members in fulfilling stewardship and activation plans, ensuring they are on time and budget
• Coordinate internal approvals at all levels of the organization in a timely and efficient manner
• Execute accurate invoice and expense administration and reconciliation
• Catalogue project/partnership deliverables and create workback schedules as required
• Ensures central file repository is kept current with the latest information

The ideal candidate possesses:

• Post-secondary education
• Min. 5 years relevant experience in a donor/partner-centered environment, preference to candidates with experience in marketing and project management
• Exceptional oral, written and communication skills
• Understanding and experience in providing corporate account management, activation, recognition, and stewardship
• Strong organizational, project management and resource management skills
• Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, combined with a comfort managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
• Experience with design software and proficient with MS Office applications, MS Teams
