The Ministry of Citizens’ Services and the Ministry of Forests have partnered with the BC Public Service Agency (PSA) to provide an HR model that supports the delivery of dedicated HR services across each ministry and within the PSA. The HR Specialist position will be jointly recruited for by the PSA and the Ministries of Citizens’ Services and Forests, as we are looking for ministry employees to take on an exciting role within the PSA. Successful candidates of the Ministry of Citizens’ Services and the Ministry of Forests will be temporarily assigned from their base ministry into the PSA. Successful applicants may also be placed permanently within the PSA as HR Specialists.
Reporting to the Manager, HR Specialist Services, the HR Specialist provides expert advice, support and guidance to ministry clients on a wide range of complex HR issues including attendance and performance management, investigations, disciplinary processes including investigations and results, accommodations and grievance support.
The position also provides advice on the interpretation and application of HR legislation, policies and procedures, collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment.
The position must continuously evolve to ensure advice given considers highly sensitive and complex issues such as diversity and inclusion principles, trauma-informed practices and discrimination, bullying and harassment.

About this Position:
This position is excluded from union membership.
This is a temporary opportunity until 3/31/2024. This position may become permanent or be extended.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
This position may be performed in any PSA office including Victoria, Vancouver, Nelson, Nanaimo, Prince George, Kamloops.
