THRIVE has an immediate opening for a highly communicative, collaborative, and innovative People & Culture (aka HR) Generalist to join our team. This role will provide support to the Director of People & Culture with a variety of tasks to support all THRIVE’s P&C programs. The P&C Generalist role will oversee the daily functions of the P&C team including hiring, interviewing, orientation and onboarding, providing guidance to staff regarding pay, benefits, leave, policy/guideline development, and enforcing the mission, vision, values and policies of the organization.
The position will be located out of one of our Johnson Ave office in Sault Ste. Marie, and provide support to all THRIVE locations.

What we require from you:
- University degree or College diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three years of related experience
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
- Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC)
What we need from you:
- Professional HR designation is an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Strong understanding of People & Culture functions and best practices.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills including the ability to communicate professionally and courteously across all levels and positions.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams
- Ability to organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced service-oriented environment
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a commitment to a collaborative team approach
- Ability to work for and with a diverse range of managers and team members
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify appropriate responses to issues or problems in the face of conflicting needs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Have well-developed self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management skills
- Willingness to travel throughout Algoma District
- Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
THRIVE Child Development Centre/Centre de développement de l’enfant is an incorporated, non-profit Children’s Treatment Centre providing inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care coordination, an on-site childcare program and resource support to community childcare centres in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout the District of Algoma.
