We are looking for an experienced and passionate Montessori teacher to join our New Numinous Microschool team!
This teacher will be responsible for educating, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children in our multi-age classroom SK to Grade 4. The successful candidate will, together with colleague ECE, promote a high-quality learning environment, assess, observe and care for the individual needs of every child, teach according to the designated curriculum model, maintain open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members, and exemplify professionalism. Monthly professional development sessions included.
Responsibilities include using a variety of resources and technology to create meaningful lesson plans based on the materials provided, perform assessments and take anecdotal notes, maintaining a positive learning environment using age-appropriate and effective classroom management techniques, participating in monthly trainings, and creating monthly report cards based on anecdotal notes taken throughout the month.
Qualifications include possessing a Diploma in Montessori Training or other alternative teaching methods, having three years of experience or more working in a Montessori environment with children SK to Grade 5, being loving, motivated, patient, reliable, responsible, mature, hard-working, adaptable, willing to learn and flexible, having a current Police Check, CPR and Standard First Aid, and having a positive working attitude. French as a second language is a bonus.
The successful candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills, experience working in a team environment, be friendly, and be willing to contribute to the success of the School beyond their own classroom.
New Numinous Microschool is a part and full-time education program for Kindergarten to Grade 5, focused on natural and holistic learning. We aim to create a beautiful, nurturing environment for our children and guide them to take ownership of their education. Our values include believing that education is about the whole child and supporting our students in every aspect of their learning journey: socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Majority of teaching time happens outdoors.
Selected candidate will be working with skilled ECE starting September 2023. To evaluate their qualifications, applicants must undergo an interview and a classroom tryout.
