The Opportunity
The HR Business Partner is responsible for partnering with the Audit Canadian Managing Partner (CMP), , the National Audit Leadership Table (NALT) and the Chief Talent Officer (CTO) to identify audit specific talent strategies and processes that are required to effectively deploy, retain, engage and develop the right talent in the right ways for our current and future business needs.
As a member of KPMG’s Business Enablement Team, the HR Business Partner plays a key role in delivering on our Business Enablement vision and ‘How can I help you’ service culture in audit.
The primary client of the HRBP audit is the CMP and NALT.

What you will do:

  • Trusted advisor, coach, and influencer to CMP audit and NALT on talent related matters.
  • Understands and articulates business strategy, challenges, and opportunities. Deep understanding of audit is an asset.
  • Ability to understand and see through the implementation of ISQM1
  • Effectively communicates the unique needs of audit to HR Leadership and CoE’s in HR. Works with HRLT in order to make sure appropriate HR support is provided to national audit.
  • Acts as a broker between audit and National HR to bring expertise and capacity resident in National HR CoE’s to audit challenges.
  • Act as a liaison across HR (Delivery center and COEs) to ensure HR services are aligned and being leveraged as intended. Provide feedback and collaborate to solve opportunities in HR delivery model
  • Implements and monitors the effectiveness of national strategic people initiatives in audit.
  • Organizes, facilitates and drives engagement plan with Audit Workforce of the Future.
  • Develops and implements audit talent initiatives which are aligned with business needs and integrated as appropriate with geographic plans.
  • Through planning, strong influencing and negotiating skills, ensures alignment where necessary and minimal duplication of effort in the design and execution of firm wide and audit talent initiatives.
  • Identifies unique audit talent issues, conducts root cause analysis, collaborates with the business, HR Centers of Excellence (where applicable) and Geographic HR Consultants and HRBPs to create and implement solutions.
  • Discerns insights and trends from information and data, and leverages them to identify opportunities for change that will deliver value and impact to audit.
  • Drives change management within audit on talent related matters; solicits stakeholder buy-in, works through resistance, and facilitates change.
  • Conducts an analysis of the strength of national audit talent against future needs and business growth to identify strengths and gaps. Leads a robust talent discussion with NALT, and collaborates with geographic HRCs and HRBPs who support BULs in the discussion. Supports CMP in preparing for annual review of individual and business cases as part of partner admission.
  • Play a leadership role on HR projects, either leading smaller projects or leading tracks on larger projects and connecting to Audit priorities.
  • Represents Canada on the Global Audit Workforce of Today and Tomorrow and at other Global Audit people tables

What you bring to this role:

  • Senior Manager with 8+ years of experience in Audit and/or broad experience across HR
  • CHRP/CPRH or relevant experience
  • Superior Project and Stakeholder Management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative manner and deliver strategic ideas and solutions, while building strong collaborative relationships with NALT.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and work under pressure and prioritize competing demands
  • A strategic thinker with strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills
  • Able to act as a change agent and integrator to connect the dots, assert ideas and influence others
  • Known as a collaborator and team player
  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful, positive, business relationships with leaders located across multiple locations
  • Strong organizational and active listening skills.
  • Integrates information from a variety of different sources and considers the broader impact of issues.
