Our team enjoys an optional hybrid work model with up to 3 days at home, flexibility in schedule, and support for resources to work from home.

As a Work Design & Compensation Associate with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
  • Exercise considerable judgment, tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Liaise in a professional and courteous manner with SET members, senior leaders, managers/directors, staff and the public to gather and disseminate information.
  • Communicate in a compelling, clear and understandable manner (both verbally and in writing) and uses strong persuasion abilities to represent the needs of the SET member and organization.
  • Apply excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
  • Practice care and thoroughness when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and budget information.
  • Collaborate with peers and/or provides leadership and direction to clerical staff to ensure administrative systems and processes are consistently followed and monitored for effectiveness. Ensures gaps are addressed and resolved when identified.
  • Employ expertise in the use of desktop computer applications to create a variety of documents and presentations.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
  • Completion of a recognized diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Two (2) years of related experience in a large and complex organization, or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Skilled computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database programs, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio is required.

Knowledge & Abilities
  • Applies expertise in the use of desktop computer applications to create a variety of documents that record and transfer information to various audiences.
  • Adhering to timelines, knowledgeably administers relevant classification and job evaluation policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes investigative and analytical skills to research and analyze documents/data/information.
  • Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice/ information or seeking/acquiring information.
  • Exhibits thoroughness when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and other information.
  • Applies time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
