Our highly regarded client is looking for a Junior Accountant in Mississauga area. This Junior Accountant position would best suit a candidate with a positive attitude and who enjoys working with Excel. The professional Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing revenue analysis and adjustments as well as month end duties. Additionally, the Junior Accountant will be handling tax remittances, maintaining capital asset schedule, month and year end reporting and other ad hoc accounting duties as they arise. The selected candidate for this Junior Accountant role needs strong analytical skills and proven ability to work independently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Junior Accountant:
– Analyses of General Ledger accounts as assigned
– Prepare weekly cash forecast
– Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to bank, credit card, and cash
– Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
– Researching and rectifying account discrepancies
– A/R Aging Reconciliation
– Facilitating full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
– Applicants with an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting
– At minimum, 1 year of relevant accounting experience
– Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Vlookups) is preferred
– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
– High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
– Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
– Strong communication skills
