Position: Senior Business Analyst

As an integral member of the Corporate Finance team, the responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst will vary from assignment to assignment including:
Perform financial management responsibilities for various business programs, both CAPEX and OPEX
Provide sound and timely information to the management team to facilitate optimal decision making
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages and dashboards for management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process.
Prepares monthly financial month-end journal entries and reconciliations relevant to the assigned portfolios
Assist Manager and Director on monthly/quarterly financial review process including: providing financial information and/or requested management reports; assist with follow-up of action plans
Perform compensation analysis including FTE, salary, benefit, etc. Perform revenue and supplies analysis.Review and prepare annual operating budget and maintain up-to-date forecasts for assigned portfolios
Working with business area managers and directors to prepare a preliminary assessment of risks & opportunities in business portfolio
Prepare formal written and oral presentations to internal and external decision makers
Assist with audits, perform in-depth written analysis
Identify accounting issues, process issues and make solid recommendation
Lead, actively participate and contribute in interdisciplinary meetings with different client groups
Performs cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested, including providing training and back-up support for other financial analyst, as required
Performs other duties consistent with the job classification such as business analysis and cash modeling, as required
University Degree and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
5 years’ experience in large complex accounting or auditing environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles, practices and procedures required
Computer software proficiency in SAP and Advanced Excel, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
Excellent analytical, problem solving and attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, and provide business recommendations
Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize work
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
Excellent customer services skills
Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial data and information and is able to adhere to UHN policies and procedures
Ability to work accurately under time constraints
Experience with process improvement
Critical thinking skills and willingness to challenge the status quo
Ability to work independently and as a great team player who brings the positive impact to the team and thrives in a changing environment
A strong service orientation with a passion to advance the mission of UHN
