Job Description:

The Investment Solutions Reporting team is responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for the Canadian Individual Wealth business and related subsidiaries. Reporting to the Manager, Investment Solutions Reporting and Analysis, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial management functions of the Investment Solutions business unit and subsidiaries with specific accountability for financial reporting and analysis and maintaining an effective control environment.

What will you do?

• Process accounting for the Segregated Funds line of business, includes partnering with external vendors and other business units, preparation of Investment Management Fee Statements for fund companies, and support for the Corporate Taxation submissions

• Supporting the Senior Financial Analyst with Sun Life Financial Trust Inc. deliverables including regulatory (OSFI & CDIC), account reconciliations, journal entries and regular daily tasks

• Assisting with Lease Reserve client statements and associated accounting

• Prepare journal entries and support account reconciliations

• Provide on-going support to our team’s control environment

What do you need to succeed?

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Sound knowledge of accounting principles

• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage own work to effectively meet tight deadlines

• Experience working with large data sets focusing on summarizing, extracting and reconciling data

• Strong MS Excel skills

Assets:

• Previous work experience in the insurance and/or financial services/banking industry

• Experience using SAP and AFO

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
