Howden Canada inc. Looking for Software Developer (C# language) at Remote Full Time

Howden Ventsim Canada designs and develops software and hardware to monitor and control various industrial equipment, particularly for the mining industry. Our Ventsim software series is a leader in its field. We are located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and offer the possibility of remote work with occasional on-site activities.

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team. Remote work or hybrid work schedule (from Canada location only) is available for this role.

What we are looking for?

The successful candidate will have proven programming experience, the ability to develop and implement current engineering practices, and the ability to provide detailed documentation following project completion. He will join a diversified team and work closely with sales, engineering in order to offer the best application to our customers.

Main responsibilities:

As an Software Developer, you will design, develop, test and maintain Howden’s portfolio of engineering software applications that support the global business;

You will produce and present user support documentation for the programs and provide technical support to the engineering and sales teams as required;

You will deliver fully functional products within agreed and demanding timeframes, and analyze and define user requirements through interviews and workshops;

This position will be responsible for software development within a team. This includes all work: creating new applications, adding new functionality to existing applications, automated testing, customer installations and debugging. The incumbent will have to master both the design of user interfaces and the creation of back-end logic components. Most of the work will be done in the .NET environment using C#.

What Do You Need To Bring?

• Undergraduate degree in software engineering or College degree in computer science with good experience;
• Equivalent technical experience also considered;
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position;
• Extensive experience working with C#;
• Experience with WPF development;
• Experience with the following software: Microsoft Visual Studio; SQL databases; JIRA; Git-based release management
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with team members;
• Ability to analyze and use data without getting lost in the details; Very good organizational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Familiarity with best practices in computer programming;
• Initiative and autonomy; Creative thinking.
