Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in North York has a current opening for a Plant Controller to join their Finance Team. Responsibilities include

 

·        Oversee the cost analyst accounting operations of all locations, as well as their control systems, transaction processing operations, and policies & procedures.

·        Managing the weekly reporting on work order variances; material and labour variances and setting corrective action.

·        Liaison between operations and accounting on all issues related to cost rate, manufacturing standards and process improvement.

·        Responsible for inventory adjustments and write offs within the ERP system.

·        Reviews and verifies material, equipment and stock within inventory to ensure costing is consumed against proper inventory (inventory vs. commitments).

·        Develop and manage costing and financial quality controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.

·        Oversees the accurate input of costing data; transfer price updates and cost roll up updates, to ensure direct reports have correctly enter data into the ERP.

·        Assists the Director of Finance in month-end and year-end financial reporting and creates reports for management.

·        Manage the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, for material and labour assignment, within the BOM’s.

·        Collaborate with production level employees to fully understand the current challenges in regard to work orders and the ERP, and work to create solutions to enact within the organization.

·        Maintain and report budgeted vs. actual cost per standard labour hours, to make strategic decisions.

·        Assist external auditors with annual company reviews, as required.

·        5+ years of plant accounting experience in a manufacturing role.

·        CPA designation

·        Industrial manufacturing experience and an understanding of production processes and procedures.

·        Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

·        Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and Excel.

·        Experience working for an organization with multiple sites

·        Experienced in creating financial statements.

·        Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.

·        Problem solving abilities and able to resolve conflicts and problems.

·        Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain an excellent rapport with suppliers etc.

·        Ability to prioritize and organize.

·        Solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills.

·        Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
