Homescapes Complete Residential Landscaping has openings for Lead Hand – Landscape Construction.
About the Job:
Lead Hands are responsible for contributing to the construction of landscape projects and take direction from Site Foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Follow direction from the Site Foreman.
- Leading, coaching, and motivating crew.
- Be familiar with contract requirements of projects you’re working on.
- Project a positive company image by always acting professionally on or off client properties.
- Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures including Health & Safety Policy.
- Complete paperwork required by Management.
- Operate small construction equipment including skid steers.
- Read blueprints.
Core Competencies:
- Have good oral and written communication skills, job task planning and organization.
- Work well both individually and within a team environment.
- Willingness and available for continuous learning.
- Physical Capabilities: heavy lifting up to 50 lbs, physically demanding requiring walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time, working long hours in all types of weather conditions.
- Proper PPE is required.
- Willingness to work extended hours during busy periods.
Technical Requirements:
- 2 years (minimum) of Lead Hand experience.
- Class 5 driver’s license & own vehicle required; a clean driver’s abstract MUST be provided.
Education:
- Completion or in the process of completing the Certified Horticultural Technician program considered an asset.
- Other related construction or safety training program completion is considered an asset.
Starting wage $22.00/hour
Overtime paid after 8 hours/day and 44 hours per week
This is a full-time, seasonal position available immediately to approximately November 25, 2022; with the possibility of winter snow removal employment.
