Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst in the West End of GTA (Oakville-Mississauga Border)

What we offer

  • Contract date: ASAP for One Year contract with a potential for extension or going permanent.
  • Location: Mississauga – Oakville, Ontario L6H 0H2
  • Pay: $ 65,000/yr. to $ 70,000/yr. depending on experience
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday. including weekends if necessary. Position can be work from home, however, will require incumbents to be in office initially and they may be required to come to the office periodically as needed.

What you do:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance and IT, this position is responsible for providing full-service accounting, payroll, financial and all reporting for unionized and non-unionized employees. The Financial Analyst is also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of assigned software applications and other projects. Responsible for the coordination and performance of the accounting and financial reporting activities of the organization to ensure that the financial information and records, administrative functions and day-to-day requirements are accurate and current.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Prepare month/quarter/year-end financial packages (financial and statistical) for peer groups and the senior leadership team.
  • Reconcile, analyze, and monitor all operational spending, including providing monthly reports of expenditures against budget allocation on request.
  • Collaborate with the Quality and Performance team to incorporate statistical information for program analysis.

Payroll, Pension and Benefit Administration:

  • Support the Transition of current HRIS system to Quadrant HR to ADP
  • Responsible for supporting ADP in processing and administration of payroll for all employees, while auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy
  • Ensuring administration of all wages in accordance with the Organization’s payroll schedule and two Collective Agreements.
  • Ensure data is provided to ADP for timely and accurate adjustments to be performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support People and Culture in creation of new hire profile in ADP and program appropriate deductions for statutory government remittances, pension contributions, benefit premiums and any garnishments
  • Prepare journal entries and forms such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances.
  • Program regular and run and issue ad hoc, monthly quarterly, and annual reports including fiscal year end processing.
  • Address escalated inquiries from employees and supervisors about pay deposit.
  • Work with People and Culture in programing and implementation of scheduled increases in the ADP or other relevant payroll system
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly provincial and federal statutory remittances, and court ordered garnishments.
  • Work with People and Culture to develop, implement and maintain HRIS systems to automate payroll process where applicable.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture team to develop insightful reporting package on labour utilization.
  • Oversee and support ADO in administration of ROE issuance, annual sick day payout, year end adjustments and T-4’s.
  • Ensure remittances for monthly payments for WSIB, EHT, benefits and pension plan.
  • Maintain up to date payroll records.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years relevant working experience, ideally in a non-profit environment and in a financial function with strong emphasis in financial operations and payroll
  • Good understanding of Information Technology and systems operations
  • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks and ADP, as well as Microsoft Great Plains and Share Point a strong asset.
  • Strongly proficient computer skills with Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of MIS-OHRS healthcare reporting systems a great asset
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and funding formulas in a Not-for-Profit organization an asset

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Ability to multi-task, manage and meet timelines, and work well under pressure.
  • Ensure the safety and soundness of all accounting practices within an Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and reports in a knowledgeable and flexible manner.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service; professional image and presentation and strong communication abilities.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Must pass a crim check.
