Role Overview

To help drive our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. In this dynamic role, you will work under the direction of the Accounting Manager. ​​This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing company which will provide opportunities for both career and personal advancement. As an integral part of the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assisting with the full accounting cycle and ensuring the application of sound accounting principles and practices.

Role Responsibilities

• Monthly Close. Actively participate and own major components in the month/quarter-end and annual close process in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE).
• General Ledger. Oversee the journal entries to record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses by managing the preparation of accurate supporting workbook and analyzing account information
• Payroll Accounting. Responsible for full cycle Payroll accounting that includes (but not limited to) managing, allocating and posting payroll, SR&ED, bonus, vacation and benefit entries.
• Reconciliations. Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance as well as be responsible for reconciling assigned balance sheets and income statement accounts.
• Financial Statements. Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and management reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Audit. Partner closely with the Accounting Manager and the company auditors to work on annual external audits
• Taxes. Work closely on preparation and filing indirect tax returns such GST and PST.
• Ad hoc reporting and other duties, as required

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a closely related field
• Completion of the CPA program
• 4+ years of relevant experience, at least 1 year post designation
• Experience with Quickbooks and Salesforce is a huge asset
• Fluency in Spanish is a huge asset
